Project description:

The project "Quality for All-Day Schools" opens up perspectives on the quality development of all-day schools from 15 years of all-day school research through in-depth analyses of the data generated in the Study on the Development of All-Day Schools (StEG), research reviews and practice transfer. The project works on the thematic areas of a) individual effects on student development, b) organization, learning culture, and school development, and c) interaction of stakeholders. The aim is to generate and secure knowledge in these three areas and to ensure the transfer to practice. The project is carried out in cooperation with the DIPF | Leibniz Institute for Educational Research and Educational Information (Prof. Dr. Kai Maaz), the Freiburg University of Education (Prof. Dr. Wolfram Rollett), the German Youth Institute (Prof. Dr. Birgit Reißig), the Institute for School Development Research (Prof. Dr. Holtappels) and the Justus Liebig University Giessen (Prof. Dr. Ludwig Stecher).

The focus of the University of Kassel, in cooperation with the Freiburg University of Education, is on in-depth analyses regarding the personality development of children and adolescents based on existing data from the Study on the Development of All-Day Schools (StEG). In addition, the impact of participatory activities on the development of social competencies will be investigated in depth. In addition, a research overview on the topic of "Effects of all-day schooling on the development of students" is being produced as part of this cooperation, incorporating the current state of international research.
