DaZ and subject-integrated language education in teacher training

In the area of German as a second language (DaZ), a blended learning offer for prospective and current teachers is being developed to build on the basic module (4 SWS) that has already been developed. The new learning environment supplements and expands the content of the previous face-to-face courses, particularly in the areas of 'language-sensitive teaching' and 'language level diagnosis'. In cooperation with partners from the field of empirical educational research and selected subject didactics, the aim is to train and strengthen diagnostic skills and the ability to develop language didactic materials. In this way, teachers are to be sensitized to the linguistic requirements of children and young people with a migration background and enabled to plan and implement differentiated, language-sensitive lessons.
