The project is dedicated to reflecting on gender and heterogeneity competence in school sport and is aimed in particular at future sports teachers, but also at those already working in schools. The aim is to improve the quality of teaching at the IfSS in terms of gender mainstreaming and dealing with heterogeneity. This is done by taking a closer look at gender classifications and performance conditions in sport and school sport.

The focus is on various perspectives, such as the analysis of body language, biographical self-reflection and lesson observation via questionnaires, videography and reflection phases, in order to derive an appropriately tailored concept for teaching that integrates the development of gender competencies more strongly into training processes in sports studies. Although the topic of gender and co-education has long been anchored in sports science and the subject of projects, seminars etc., it is not yet structurally anchored in teacher training in the subject of sport. This shows that there is a need for action and that the topic must be given a high priority, especially in sports studies as a subject with a focus on the body and movement. The measures of the sub-project relate to the various areas of training in sports studies (subject science, subject didactics, school practice) and are based on approaches to gender competence and biographical self-reflection.

Findings are also to be determined and communicated in cooperation schools. Furthermore, concepts for a workshop on "Body language, language and gender in school sport" for PE teachers can be developed and offered as further training.
