Position on the topic of sexualized violence

The Institute of Sport and Sport Science (IfSS) at the University of Kassel takes a clear position
against all forms of interpersonal violence, in particular sexualized violence, discrimination and
abuse of power. The Institute is actively committed to safe sport in its own environment.
The declared aim is to effectively protect people in its own sport environment from interpersonal violence
. Facilities associated with the IfSS, such as UNISport and task, advocate as
specific areas of the institute the positioning against all forms of interpersonal violence,
especially sexualized violence, discrimination and pursue the goal of safe
sport. Based on the university's internal guidelines (University of Kassel, 2019) and
current scientific findings (cf. Rulofs & Palzkill, 2018; Kortendiek et al., 2021)
, the IfSS is committed to a respectful, appreciative and safe environment in research,
teaching and practice.
