If you consider studying at the Institute for Sports and Sports Sciences, you should read the information below. General information is given on the web site of the University.
Studying at the Institute for Sports and Sport Science may be done in different ways.
1. Full Degree Program: As you may wish to receive a German Teacher Degree (State Exam) you will have to engage into a 4-year study program at the University of Kassel. Registration and admission will be achieved through the Student Service Desk.
2. Double Degree Program: This option will be negotiated between your home university and the University of Kassel. A certain number of courses are required at each university to receive a Double Degree. Please ask for more details. Registration and admission will be achieved through the Foreign Students Adviser.
3. Summer School and/or Winter School: You may spend a period of time at the University of Kassel while attending a special Summer School and/or Winter School Program. Please ask for the course program in order to find out about English speaking courses or professors. Registration and admission will be achieved through the Student Exchange Office at the University of Kassel.
4. Guided Reading Courses: As the Institute for Sports and Sport Sciences may not be able to offer English speaking courses on a regular term to term basis you may participate in guided reading courses. These courses refer to English textbooks which you will study in the course of one semester. You will meet with your professor once or twice a week to report on the respective chapter of your textbook. As a master student, you will also have the opportunity to engage in special advanced lab courses on biomechanics, motor learning, motor control, and exercise science.
