Annika Mies (M.Sc.) ist wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin und Doktorandin am Lehrstuhl „Nachhaltige Unternehmensführung“ der Universität Kassel. Ihre Forschungsinteressen umfassen die Themengebiete Circular Economy (Kreislaufwirtschaft), Supply Chain und Operations Management, Nachhaltigkeitsmanagement, sowie Zielkonflikte und unbeabsichtigte Folgen im Nachhaltigkeitsmanagement. Sie promoviert zum Thema „Transforming towards a sustainable circular economy: exploring the social dimension, actor contribution and emerging paradoxes“.

Ihre Forschung präsentierte Annika Mies dem internationalen Fachpublikum bereits auf einer Vielzahl internationaler Konferenzen, u.a. auf den ISDRS Konferenzen in 2018 und 2020, der EURAM Konferenz 2019, und den EurOMA Konferenzen und Nachhaltigkeitsforen in 2021 und 2022. Darüber hinaus stellte sie in einem Vortrag auf Einladung des Department of Sustainable Futures und dem Exeter Centre for Circular Economy der University of Exeter Business School ihre Publikation zur sozialen Dimension in der Circular Economy (Mies, Gold (2021), Mapping the social dimension of the circular economy, Journal of Cleaner Production) im November 2021 einem breiten internationalen Publikum vor.

In ihrer Lehre legt Annika Mies den Schwerpunkt auf Nachhaltigkeitszielkonflikte und die Erforschung unbeabsichtigter Folgen im Kontext der Circular Economy, u.a. durch die Modellierung von Kausalkreisläufen. Sie hält außerdem die Vorlesung „Nachhaltige Unternehmensführung I“ zusammen mit Prof. Dr. Gold.

Vor Ihrer Tätigkeit am Lehrstuhl von Prof. Dr. Gold studierte Annika Mies „Nachhaltiges Wirtschaften“ M. Sc. an der Universität Kassel und arbeitete als wissenschaftliche Hilfskraft am CliMA (Center for Climate Mitigation and Adaptation) der Universität Kassel.

Ehrenamtlich engagiert sich Annika Mies seit 2018 als Promovierendenvertretung im Graduiertenzentrum für Umweltforschung und -lehre (GradZ), und hat dort unter anderem den Stammtisch Umwelt- und Nachhaltigkeitsforschung ins Leben gerufen. Seit 2019 ist sie Mitglied bei den Scientists for Future – Regional Gruppe Kassel. Darüber hinaus ist Annika Mies seit 2019 Vertreterin des wissenschaftlichen Mittelbaus im Prüfungsausschuss „Nachhaltiges Wirtschaften“. Sie war Mitglied der Berufungskommission zur W3-Eckprofessur „Just Transitions“ im Rahmen der Einrichtung eines Zentrums zum Themenbereich Nachhaltige Entwicklung und Transformationen (2021).
