Biologisches Kolloquium: Vortrag Prof. Dr. Doreen Cantrell, University of Dundee

Titel des Vortrags: Fuelling T lymphocytes

Professor Cantrell worked for 15 years as Principal Investigator at the Imperial Cancer Research Fund Laboratories (ICRF) in London where she established the Lymphocyte Activation Laboratory within the ICRF. In 2002 she was awarded a Wellcome Trust Principal Research Fellowship and moved her research group to the University of Dundee, a world leading Centre for Life Sciences research. Her work has explored how antigen receptors and cytokines control the development and immune activation of T lymphocytes; key cells in the adaptive immune system. A major contribution of her work has been around T cell metabolism. Her laboratory has made fundamental contributions to defining how signal transduction pathways controlled by antigen receptors and cytokines control T cell metabolism, T cell trafficking, T cell growth, proliferation and differentiation.
