Summary

The Steer project is financed by the German Ministry of Research and Education. In analyses Institutions and Governance in intersectoral coordination in river basin management (Nexus Governance) (STEER - Steering competence for achieving the aims of integrated water management). The project will be undertaken by the Section on International Agricultural Policy and Environmental Governance of the University of Kassel, in collaboration with the University of Osnabrück (Coordination), the German Institute for Development Research (DIE-GDI) and Ecologic and other partners worldwide. Tasks of Uni Kassel are coordination of the work package concerning comparative analysis of nexus governance in five case studies, development of a conceptual and methodological framework, collaboration on the development of indicators for measuring the performance of governance, execution of the Spanish case study (Gathering of primary and secondary data in the Guadalquivir basin), coordination of stakeholder workshops in Spain.
