Distributional impacts of drip irrigation on land and labour

Background: The introduction of drip irrigation implies major investments and technical capacities. It cannot be assumed that any farmer can easily adopt this technology. Thus, we need to understand the conditions under which farmers can adopt drip irrigation, respectively distributional implications of the introduction of drip irrigation on farmers. This work can rely on particular cases in Spain and Portugal or on a worldwide, systematic literature review.

Aim: To assess the reasons for, determinants and impact of the introduction of drip irrigation based on policy programs.
