Current research projects

SMARTCON

Within the "SMARTCON" project, the use of shape memory alloys (SMA) is intended to both increase the safety and service life of concrete structures and reduce the amount of material used in the construction phase. Among the many areas of application are bridges, where it will be possible to achieve permanent prestressing through the use of FGL, and high-rise buildings in earthquake-prone areas, where the damping properties of FGL contribute significantly to the resistance of the buildings.

TETHOK

The "TETHOK" project is concerned with the simulation, manufacture and construction of lightweight, load-bearing components made of continuous fiber textiles based on wood. In addition to their suitability for lightweight construction, the decisive advantage of these textiles lies primarily in their versatility, functionality, formability and aesthetics.
