Research
The Department of Timber Structures and Building Rehabilitation is concerned with the development of innovative constructions in timber and masonry construction. The focus in this context is on the application of adhesive bonding technology, computer-aided manufacturing processes and earthquake-resistant construction.
In other research projects, questions are addressed that are closely related to the adaptation of load-bearing structures to new usage requirements or to changed safety aspects. If such adaptation is successful, the useful life of a structure is extended. This saves resources, energy and landfill space.
Cooperation partners are German and foreign universities and research companies as well as medium-sized engineering firms and companies.
