Chiral Rydberg states of laser cooled atoms for studying interactions with chiral molecules

Using quantum state preparation techniques, we will generate chiral states in the electronic wavefunction of Rydberg atoms. We will study mutual interactions between chiral Rydberg atoms and compare the experimental results with quantum field theoretical predictions. The obtained results will be used to realize chiral discrimination of molecules. Optimized parameters will be identified to maximize the chiral sensitivity.
