Migration of the VPN Service

The VPN service is being migrated to univpn.uni-kassel.de. The previous service at vpn.uni-kassel.de (IP range 41.51.216.0–141.51.223.255) will be discontinued as of July 31, 2026.

What does this mean for you?
VPN access will remain available at univpn.uni-kassel.de.
The new service uses the IP address range (10.60.0.0/16). Firewall rules and, if applicable, local access restrictions must be adjusted accordingly.
Please test all workflows in a timely manner using univpn.uni-kassel.de and coordinate any necessary adjustments with your IT representative or firewall administrator.

Starting August 1, 2026,vpn.uni-kassel.de will redirect to the systems at univpn.uni-kassel.de.

The certificate check ensures that you are connecting to the correct VPN of the University of Kassel.

Please install all three certificates required for VPN use.

If you are using the Cisco Secure VPN Client under Windows, an existing VPN connection may cause problems when accessing websites outside the university network, making them inaccessible.
You can resolve this problem by deactivating the IPv6 internet protocol.
