FAQ - Two-factor authentication
If the link does not work for you, please check whether the link can be accessed via another web browser on your smartphone.
Also check whether access is possible via the link < https://auth.its.uni-kassel.de/smartphone/enroll >.
In this case, please contact the IT service desk by telephone. A short video identification procedure via Zoom is required to verify your identity.
The two-factor authentication will then be administratively removed for you and you can set up the NetIQ app again.
Please make sure that the NetIQ app has authorization for push messages. Also make sure that your cell phone has a stable Internet connection.
If you still do not receive a notification, open the NetIQ app and accept the login prompt within the app.
Please follow the steps in the instructions for losing your cell phone.
When changing cell phones, the NetIQ app must be reinstalled manually from the app/playstore. An automatic installation via the setup wizard leads to an error message when assigning the PIN.
In this case, please uninstall and reinstall the NetIQ app. Adding authentication will then work again.
In some cases (especially on iOS, occasionally also on Android), the link that enables login to the NetIQ app cannot be opened correctly. As a result, the user is not redirected to the app.
In this case, the second factor can alternatively be set up via a QR code in the NetIQ app.
Procedure:
- Go to the following website:
< auth.its.uni-kassel.de/account > - Log in with your UniAccount.
- Select the tile with the smartphone symbol on the website.
- Click on "Save".
- Scan the displayed QR code with the NetIQ app.
After the successful scan, the second factor is active and can be used to log in.
