Home office and mobile working

Access for home office and mobile working

The following services are available for your mobile work or for access from your home workplace:

A VPN connection (Virtual Private Network) establishes a secure connection between your computer and the private network of the University of Kassel. The profile is a split-tunnel profile, i.e. only the traffic to the university is routed via the university IP address. The remaining traffic is routed normally via the provider address.

Further information can be found under Cisco Secure VPN Client (network security).

We provide you with a virtual Windows workstation that you can access independently of your end device.

You can find more information under VDI - Virtual Desktop Environment (remote workstation).

The university offers various platforms for video and/or voice communication to support teaching and university operations.

You can find detailed information in the video conferencing section.

With next.hessenbox, you can easily and securely share and collaborate on data with others, whether for projects, research or as part of courses. Your data can also be synchronized on different devices.

You can find more information at next.hessenbox (cloud storage).

You do not necessarily need an e-mail client such as Outlook to access your e-mails, calendar or tasks. With Online Web Access (OWA), you only need a standard web browser such as Firefox.

You can find more information under Accessing your mail account.

Forward your business office address to your work cell phone or your home phone.

You can find more information under Call forwarding.
