FAQ - eduroam

The eduroam WLAN is used at universities and other educational institutions around the world. The login details always remain the same; the user name in the format "IhrUniAccount@uni-kassel.de"(not...@student.uni-kassel.de) and the password of the UniAccount.

Other locations may require additional certificates or special settings for a successful connection. Please contact the IT support of the relevant institution.

A UniAccount is mandatory for using the eduroam WLAN. Normally, only students/employees and other persons directly associated with the university receive this.

Please use the options of the conference WLAN to allow people from outside the university to access eduroam when visiting a university location.

The most common reason for connection problems with eduroam is changing the UniAccount password. As this is also used for the eduroam connection, the password must also be updated there.

We recommend using the configuration apps geteduroam or eduroamCAT to set up eduroam. These automatically install the certificates required for the connection.

If it is not possible to connect to eduroam despite these steps, remove the network completely from your device ("Do not save/remove/delete network" option) and then set up the connection again using one of the configuration apps ("Use a different profile" option).
