The event focused on three practice-oriented AI prototypes that were developed by students under the direction of Joana Gerstle, a member of the PMDT department, in close cooperation with the cultural center. They are dedicated to the following areas of application:

• Tenders for project funding - use of AI to support the research and processing of funding opportunities
• Process manual - development of an AI-supported solution for documenting and structuring internal processes
• Thinking together in the reception area - designing an AI-based information and guidance system for visitors

The thematic framework was provided by keynote speeches from Anne Nagel (Head of Family Education at the Schlachthof cultural center), an insight into the ESF Rückenwind³ project to promote human-friendly AI, Prof. Dr. Timo Braun (Head of the PMDT department) and Dr. André Knie (Managing Director of Data Hive Cassel GmbH). The contributions highlighted the potential and challenges of using artificial intelligence in socio-cultural work from different perspectives.

The lecture part was followed by a tour of the AI prototypes developed by the participants of the research seminar at several stands. The event illustrated how interdisciplinary collaboration between science and practice can produce innovative solutions - and what contribution technology-based approaches can make to the further development of socio-cultural institutions.
