New loan periods for university staff - special cards no longer required

As part of the introduction of the new library management system, the additional special library cards for university staff will no longer be valid from 01/01/2026.

In return, the loan periods for all university staff will be adjusted from 01/09/2025:

• The loan period for media is 3 years + an automatic extension for a further three years

  As before, special card holders must return borrowed media after 28 days if they are reserved by others.

• The maximum limit of 100 borrowed media will be lifted

This is due to the connection to the university identity management system (IDM). New special library cards will no longer be issued from 01/09/2025.

From 01/01/2026, all university staff will only use their CampusCard for all library services.

For special library card holders: As of 01/01/2026, all data (loans, fee account, reservations, etc.) of the special library card will be transferred to the library account of the CampusCard. And if you would like to help us with the data migration: Switch from your special library card to your CampusCard as early as 01/09/2025. You do not need to do anything else.
