Onleihe Hessen
On 11.02.2026, the eBibliotheken (eLibraries) Hessen will switch from Onleihe 2.0 to Onleihe 3. Here you can find all the information about the changeover.
The Murhard Library, part of Kassel University Library, is particularly committed to serving the citizens of Kassel and the surrounding region. In addition to providing literature from the university library's holdings, the library is expanding its digital offering as a member of the eBibliotheken Hessen with onleihe Hessen. In addition to e-media, which are primarily available to academic users of the library, onleihe now offers a service that also caters to other genres.
Users of the Murhardsche Library can access the digital holdings of onleihe free of charge. The login details of the University Library card are used for virtual borrowing.

Technical requirements for Onleihe 3 from 11 February 2026:
Browser: at least Windows 8/10 / macOS / Linux
App: iOS version 13 or higher / Android version 8.0 or higher / FireOS version 6 or higher
E-readers that support the open EPUB format (e.g. Tolino, PocketBook)
