Catalogues and Databases
KARLA Catalogue Portal
KARLA is the search, literature and information portal of the University Library.
Every search enquiry will be executed within the holdings of Kassel University Library (Books & more) and an external data pool (Articles & more), the EBSCO Discovery Service. For more information check the search tips.
Both hit lists include e-books, e-journals, printed items and more. Articles & more also contains a large number of items that are not in stock at the University Library. You can usually order them via the inter-library loan service.
Film and Media Archive at Kassel University
The database of the Film and Media Archive of the Faculty of Humanities is available at a special workstation in the campus library at Holländischer Platz. The viewing station is located in the lounge area, 2nd floor. The database offers search options as well as access to digitised films. Use is only possible for registered library users (login with library card number). Please bring your own headphones (jack or USB connection).
EZB Electronic Journals Library
The EZB Electronic Journals Library lists all online journals held in German libraries. A green symbol indicates free access, a yellow symbol indicates accessibility within the campus network only and a red symbol indicates that there is no access for the University Library. In some cases table of contents or abstracts may be provided.
DBIS Database Information System
All available databases are listed in the Database Information System. Information on the contents of the database can be found in the full display of the respective database title. Similar to the EZB, there is also a colour coding.
Onleihe offers e-books and other digital media, which are available for registered patrons of Kassel University Library.
