KURT rows in 10 different racing classes at the DHM in Werder

Our women's pairs secured places in the A finals of the respective racing classes in the preliminary heats on Friday. The success continued on Saturday, where our women's four finished at the top of the podium. Our mixed eight followed suit on Sunday. Our men's four and mixed four also brought medals back to Kassel with two third places. In the novice category, one of our women's boats and one of our mixed boats made it to the A final of the 17 and 29-boat strong field.

We were able to achieve these successes and the large number of entries from Kassel at the university championships thanks to the preparation and motivation of our coaches during the rowing excursion on Ascension weekend, the training weekends at our boathouse and the many weekly training opportunities in Kassel on the Fulda.

We would therefore like to express our special thanks to the dedicated instructors of the General University Sports Department, Sven Becker, Simon Nowak, Alexander Sander and Florian Wilhelm, as well as the Kurhessen Cassel Rowing Club, the Cassel 2010 Rowing Club and the Hann Münden Rowing Club, and the Kassel Rowing Society. Without the organization by our coaches and the provision of additional material and boats, entries and training in so many different boat classes would not have been possible. In the overall "Uni Pokal" ranking, the University of Kassel achieved a remarkable second place with 43.5 points, ahead of the University of Heidelberg (42 points) and behind the first-placed University of Constance.
