Individual writing advice for international students

This page contains automatically translated content.

In the individual writing consultation, you will receive support in your writing process, in formulating your academic texts as well as tips on which linguistic strengths you can develop and which aspects of the academic language German you should pay particular attention to.

Who is it for?
For international students and employees of the University of Kassel. Our writing consultation is NOT aimed at native speakers!

How does the writing consultation work?
In a personal consultation or in a consultation on ZOOM, we discuss your text, for example an excerpt from a term paper, Bachelor's or Master's thesis, etc., of a maximum of 5 pages per consultation. Together, we look at the logic and objectivity of your text, the scientific nature of the language used, correct citation etc. and, of course, grammar and spelling. The writing consultation is not about proofreading your entire text, but rather about "helping you to help yourself": together we will work out ways in which you can work on any existing linguistic weaknesses so that your academic texts meet the requirements of the academic language German.

Note:

If you have already finished writing your academic text (term paper, master's thesis, etc.), then you will usually need someone to proofread your text for spelling, typos, grammar, etc. The Protestant Student Community at the University of Kassel offers competent proofreading assistance free of charge.
