Education and social transformation - global learning as a motor for French and Spanish teaching (Didactics of French and Spanish)

Global justice, the creation or preservation of a peaceful world, the balance of interests between the Global North and Global South or climate and environmental protection are important topics that should be dealt with from different perspectives in the classroom. Foreign language teaching is ideally suited to this because of its mission to promote intercultural communicative competence.

Based on the presentation of the FMNR method, the aim of the sub-project was to discuss how the global learning approach can be implemented in Spanish lessons. To this end, the development of the FMNR method, the basic approach of this method, its significance for the North-South relationship and its influence on current lifestyles were discussed. The students should therefore use FMNR to learn about the interconnectedness of different aspects of education for sustainable development and at the same time develop interdisciplinary projects and lesson series. The materials developed focused on a plurilingual and pluricultural approach.
