The participants of the conference discussed:

• in which relations climate risks, vulnerability and adaptation capacity are conceptionalized and what are the implicated explanations;
• in which way vulnerable groups and vulnerable regions are defined, assessed and valuated within climate research, hazard research, and development research;
• and how vulnerability approaches of social sciences (bottom up perspective) and natural sciences (top down perspective) are connected and restricted.
