This talk is an introduction to Critical Agrarian Studies. The focus will be on different, sometimes competing, schools of thought and their perspectives on issues of agrarian policy, political action, and peasant movements. In addition, the question of what an academic-activist stance within agriculture-related issues might currently look like will be addressed.
