As different as agricultural structures are in different regions of the world: Dependent workers constitute a significant part of the labor force, and their importance continues to increase compared to peasant agriculture. In many regions that were still characterized by small-scale farming in the mid-20th century, a process of social differentiation is taking place with the penetration of capitalism. In this event we want to discuss what this process of social differentiation looks like. What aspects characterize labor relations and working conditions in agriculture? And what role do trade unions and forms of organizing workers play in agriculture?
