The Section of "Grassland Science and Renewable Plant Resources" deals with the use of grassland and plant crops in feed management as well as for energy generation and material use. The main focus of work lies in the development of innovative processes for the optimization of cultivation and utilization systems, the recording of the quantity and quality of biomass using remote sensing methods, as well as the material conversion of plant biomass into energy carriers or sorption and filter substrates. In research and teaching, these main topics are considered and analyzed against the background of the complex relationships between site conditions and plant communities.
