Introduction
Abhilash Padhi is a research associate in the Department of Grassland Science and Renewable Resources at the University of Kassel. His research interest is in sustainable usage of residual biomass for biomaterial and accessible energy production. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering at SRM University, India and his master's degree in Sustainable Energy Technology at TU Delft, Netherlands. In his recent thesis, he worked on the conversion of Spent Coffee Grounds to Biochar using Solar Assisted Torrefaction technique. Currently, he is a part of the BMBF junior research group Bio4Act, aiming to produce activated carbons and platform chemicals from residual biomass for a sustainable circular bioeconomy. His research centers on converting residual biomass to activated carbon for removing Organic Micropollutants from municipal wastewater.
