From June 2019 Maria Theißen has been a research fellow at the International Center for Higher Education Research (INCHER) and at the chair ‘Economic Policy, Innovation and Entrepreneurship’ of the University of Kassel. Maria finished her Master studies in the economic program ‘Economic Behavior and Governance’ at the University of Kassel.

In the course of her doctoral studies she focuses on the effects of different family-oriented policy measures on career dynamics of academics, especially doctoral holders.
