Welcome to the website of the ISAC at the University of Kassel!
Research at ISAC addresses systems that are largely or completely autonomous and that adapt their behavior to dynamic environments and requirements in a goal-oriented way.
The focus of ISAC is on methods for measurement and automation, data analysis, system identification, steering, control, and optimization, as well as machine learning and pattern recognition. Research at ISAC is multi- and interdisciplinary as well as application independent.
The ISAC was founded in 2014 and comprises now five research units of the University of Kassel:
- Automation and Sensorics in Networked Systems (ASN, Prof. Hans, Faculty of Electrical Engineering / Computer Science),
- Intelligent embedded systems (IES, Prof. Sick. Faculty of Electrical Engineering / Computer Science),
- Measurement and Control (MRT, Prof. Kroll, Faculty. of Mechanical Engineering),
- Control and System Theory (RST, Prof. Stursberg, Faculty of Electrical Engineering / Computer Science), and
- Distributed Systems (VS, Prof. Hohlfeld, Faculty of Electrical Engineering / Computer Science).
