How do I get my UniAccount?

You need a UniAccount to be able to use the university's IT services. How you obtain your UniAccount depends on which group of people you belong to.

A UniAccount is automatically created for students during the enrollment process. You will need a matriculation number for the activation process, which you will receive in the welcome e-mail after successful enrolment.

For employees, a UniAccount is created automatically after the employment contract has been processed by the HR department. You will need a personnel number (SAP) for the activation process. This will be communicated to you by the HR department after the account has been created.

For persons who do not fall into any of the above categories and require a UniAccount, an account application is required. See "Guests and lecturers".

In order for you to receive a UniAccount as a guest or Lecturer (without a personnel number), an employee of the University must first submit an account application for you. Please fill out the form "Application for UniAccount" and send it to:

Please fill out the form completely. It must be signed by both persons. Please also enter your function (e.g. Lecturer). The activation code will be sent to you by post or email once your application has been processed.

If you would like to register for the Citizens' University, please contact UniKasselTransfer (UKT), where you will also receive your UniAccount.

Term of the UniAccount

For students, the UniAccount is automatically extended with the successful re-registration for the next semester. For employees, the term of the UniAccount corresponds to the term of the employment contract.

If your UniAccount was applied for manually, it has a fixed term and must be renewed regularly. Use the renewal request form for this.

If the term of your UniAccount is limited, you will be informed by e-mail to your UniAccount mailbox before the term expires.

Have you received a notification that your UniAccount is about to expire, but you still need it? Submit an application to extend the term with the UniAccount application. Please tick "Extension" and do not forget to enter your user ID.

Please make sure that the signature of the person responsible for the cost center is present. Without this, the application cannot be processed.

Your application will be processed within a few days. You will be informed of the new expiration date of your UniAccount by e-mail.

The renewal request is not intended for secondary accounts. A secondary account is extended by reassigning it. Detailed instructions can be found under"Secondary accounts".

Deletion of UniAccounts

Most UniAccounts are automatically deleted according to fixed rules. This applies in particular to the UniAccounts of students.

For students

Student accounts lose the right to log in to eCampus when you de-register. If you still require certificates after exmatriculation, please contact the Registrar's Office. If you require certificates for completed courses, please contact the examination office responsible for you.

For employees

If you are an Employee, you can still use your UniAccounts for 30 days after the end of your contract period. The login will then be deactivated and the account prepared for deletion. If you still need the account, please use the renewal request.

If - for whatever reason - you have one or more UniAccounts that you no longer need (e.g. functional accounts), there is a regulated procedure for transferring these UniAccounts to another person or having the UniAccount deleted.

You would like to have a UniAccount deleted

If a UniAccount is deleted, this also applies to all data associated with it: Emails, email addresses, web pages, files stored on the home network drive, etc.

To initialize the deletion, please send the completed and signed form for deleting a UniAccount to ITS.

You will be informed of the deletion by e-mail if you have entered an e-mail address that is independent of the UniAccount to be deleted.
