Publication of dissertations via ProQuest Dissertations and Theses (PQDT)
Kassel University Library offers you the opportunity to make your dissertation, which is published on the KOBRA publication server, accessible worldwide via ProQuest Dissertations and Theses Global (PQDT). This increases international visibility and facilitates academic research.
The most important questions
PQDT is a Proquest service that collects and provides digital dissertations and theses from all departments worldwide
- Increased visibility of your dissertation
- Indexing in specialist systems: Your work will appear in important subject-specific databases such as SciFinder, MLA, MathSciNet and others.
- Listing in the Web of Science (WoS): Through the partnership between Clarivate (operator of ProQuest and WoS), papers are also listed in the Web of Science, an important research portal.
- Rights remain with you: Publication is voluntary, non-exclusive and revocable at any time.
- Your explicit consent is required.
- Your dissertation will only be made available on the basis of a free license without "non-commercial" (NC) restrictions.
- Cumulative dissertations are excluded from delivery to PQDT, as the publishers usually only allow use for non-commercial purposes, but PQDT is a commercial provider.
- Yes, you can have the publication of your dissertation revoked at any time. Kassel University Library will support you in this process.
No. On the PQDT website you may find information that the work can be purchased as a PDF if the database is not licensed. We have contractually excluded this in the case of Kassel, as we believe it contradicts the Open Access concept. If there is no access to the version archived at ProQuest, the KOBRA link is always available as an alternative. The option of chargeable print copies has also been excluded.
