Registration for courses
Registration for Sprachpraxis courses in the winter semester 2026-27 is now open via the new eCampus system. Below is a letter from Fiona Dancy on behalf of the Sprachpraxis team.
Dear Students,
This email / handout tells you how to get a place in an English Sprachpraxis class this semester (if you don’t want a place in an English Sprachpraxis class this semester, you can stop reading here). This is what we propose:
English 1 students
It is possible for you to sign up for more than one English 1 class by giving them priorities. If you want an English 1 class, please sign up on eCampus, giving priorities to as many classes as you could take / as the system allows, by 6pm on Wednesday October 14. (If you have already done so, you do NOT need to do so again). After this deadline, I will allocate students to English 1 classes with the aim of giving as many students as possible their first choice while keeping classes roughly the same size. You will be able to see which class you have a place in because it will then say “ZU” (“zugelassen”) instead of “AN” (“angemeldet”). The other classes you applied for will say “ST” (“storniert”).
If you want to switch classes, or if you missed the deadline for signing up, you will be able to apply for a class yourself from midday on Thursday October 15. I will then fill up classes roughly in the order of applications.
I don’t think it will be possible for you to get places on eCampus for more than one English 1 class. This means if you want a second class, you should go along to the first session of the class you’re interested in to try and get a place that way.
A few general points
- Not giving alternatives means you risk not getting a place at all.
- Anyone who applies for a place between 6pm on Wednesday October 14 and midday on Thursday October 15 will have their place cancelled to avoid confusion.
English 2 and 3 students
It seems to be possible for you to sign up for more than one English 2 or English 3 place, but you can’t give priorities. If you want an English 2 or an English 3 class, please sign up for as many as fit your timetable by 9am on Thursday 24 September. (If you have already done so, you do NOT need to do so again). After this deadline, I will allocate students to classes with the aim of giving as many students as possible a class while keeping classes roughly the same size. You will be able to see which class you have a place in because it will then say “ZU” (“zugelassen”) instead of “AN” (“angemeldet”). The other classes you applied for will say “ST” (“storniert”).
If you want to switch classes, if you missed the deadline, or if you want a second or third class, you will be able to apply for classes again from Friday 25 September. I will then fill up classes roughly in the order of applications.

We hope the system will work at least as well as it did last semester. We would encourage you to go along to the first session of any class where you are registered (“AN”) or on the waiting list (“WL”) if you want that place. It is, of course, possible not to register on eCampus at all and just to go along to the first session to see if you can get a place. However, you will go to the back of the queue behind those who have attempted to register for that class.
