Field of application

Campus Events is used for the digital organization and management of events at the University of Kassel. The system supports the planning, implementation and follow-up of events such as workshops, conferences or public events.

Note: Courses are managed via the eCampus

Who is it suitable for?

The service is aimed at all members of the university, especially employees and student assistants, who want to organize and manage events.

Responsibility

The IT Service Center (ITS) of the University of Kassel is responsible for the provision, maintenance and support of Campus Events.

Description

Campus Events is a central platform for digital event organization. It enables the planning, administration and implementation of events, including the publication of dates, sending invitations, participant registration and invoicing.

Alternatives

  • Simple registration forms can be created using the Typo3 web content management system. Event registrations are made by e-mail or as a generated Excel list. A more complex registration procedure or administration and communication with participants is not possible.
  • The DFN appointment planner can be used for simple appointment coordination.
  • For conferences with a review process, there is the alternative ConfTool. The conference management of the University of Kassel can advise you on this.

Example 1: A department organizes a conference lasting several days. Campus Events is used to create the event, invite participants, manage registrations and send invoices.

Example 2: A central institution is planning a workshop for employees. The event is published via Campus Events, registrations are accepted and participant lists are created automatically.

Training

The basic training course is offered every six months and the advanced training course is offered once a year by the University of Kassel's continuing education and training department.

Data protection and security

The use of Campus Events is subject to the data protection regulations of the University of Kassel. Personal data must be anonymized no later than 15 months after the end of the event.
