SAP modules at the University of Kassel: An overview

SAP is used as the central administration system at the University of Kassel to handle administrative processes efficiently. Among other things, it supports finance and accounting, procurement, human resources management (HCM) as well as travel expense and absence management. Students only use SAP indirectly, for example via ESS (Employee Self Service) for vacation or travel expense requests. Various access paths are available for employees, for example via the UniKasselClientthe VDI or the browser.

SAP FIORI APPS
To make the SAP software more user-friendly, intuitive user interfaces have been created in the form of APPs. The conversion of the Uni Kassel systems is taking place successively: FIORI APPS

PK1 - Direct to:

EVER (electronic processing of incoming invoices)

At the University of Kassel, "EVER" refers to an add-on in the SAP system PK1 for invoice receipt. Access is via the browser. Users who have both EVER access and PK1 access can also use the SAP GUI via a UniKassel client or the VDI.

WPS (goods ordering system)

Orders are placed either via SAP-MM or via the WPS catalog system. SAP MM is used when individual or complex requirements need to be recorded. The WPS system, on the other hand, offers catalogs with standard items and works in a similar way to an online store.

PHR (main HR system, SAP HCM)

SAP HCM is the human resources module from SAP. In the SAP context, the abbreviation PHR stands for Productive HR System and is the SAP HCM solution. It bundles all important HR processes such as personnel administration, time and absence management and payroll accounting.

PHR - Directly to:

ESS / FIORI (business trip management)

ESS SAP (Employee Self-Service) is a function within the SAP system for managing business trips and their settlement. The intuitive FIORI user interface is used to request and settle business trips.
