General information

Employees of the University of Kassel have the opportunity to obtain an extension (804 - xxxx) for their work via the IT Service Center (ITS) and to request a corresponding telephone. This service is available to all employees and is coordinated by the ITS. On this page you will find all relevant information on telephone services, forms for applications and changes, as well as instructions on how to use the various telephone and fax machines at the university.

Application and amendments

Employees can apply for a telephone via ITS. This is done via an online form, which is used for new registrations, changes (e.g. relocations, display changes) and terminations. The online form is only accessible to employees of the university.

Softphone license (Cisco Jabber)

With the Cisco Jabber software, employees can make phone calls via their computer. This requires a corresponding softphone license, which can be applied for via ITS. Cisco Jabber makes it possible to operate the phone via the computer and, with a purchased license, also to make calls directly.
