Changes to Personal Information

Please notify us immediately in writing or by email of any change of address, name, or bank account information.

Exception

To participate in excursions and intensive courses offered by General University Sports, you do not need a basic membership in General University Sports, the Fit & Healthy Card, a UNIfit membership, or the Water Sports Card. These can therefore be booked directly!

Cash Payment

Cash payments are only accepted subject to a processing fee of €10.00.

Access Card

All participants who have registered online can print out an access card.

Direct Debit Authorization

University Sports is so affordable because we strive to keep administrative costs as low as possible. That’s why membership can only be offered at this low price if you provide us with a direct debit authorization.

Debits can only be made from domestic bank accounts. Holders of foreign bank accounts should contact the General University Sports office directly.

Cancellation

Cancellation is possible at the end of each month after the minimum term specified in the table below. The cancellation must be received by University Sports in writing—preferably via email at kuendigung-hochschulsport[at]uni-kassel[dot]de —two weeks before the end of the month. If submitting a written cancellation (on paper), please be sure to include a current email address on the cancellation notice. We will confirm every cancellation via email within 10 days! If you do not receive a confirmation, please contact us immediatelyat
Please note that neither withdrawal from the university nor the end of your employment contract at the university results in automatic cancellation of your membership.

Course Withdrawal

Withdrawal from a course is generally permitted. A refund of the course fee is only possible under certain conditions:

1. Withdrawal from a course must be submitted in writing, with a sufficient justification, within 14 days of registration.
2. This does not apply to the Basic Membership in General University Sports, the Fit & Healthy Card, UNIfit membership, or the Water Sports Pass.
3. A bank statement showing the debit transaction is required for a refund. This must be submitted to the AHS office within two weeks of the cancellation.

Pausing Contracts or Memberships

Contracts may be suspended for a specific period (effective on the first day of the month and only for full months) for valid reasons. Valid reasons include illness, injury, internships, or professional activities outside of Kassel. Please submit an informal request to us in a timely manner, along with the relevant supporting documentation. It is not possible to suspend a contract retroactively .

Insurance Information

All students and employees of the University of Kassel are covered by the Unfallkasse Hessen during events organized by Allgemeine Hochschulsport. This also includes online courses offered live (all other video clips are excluded). This insurance coverage does not apply to civil servants. Members of the association “Freunde des Kasseler Hochschulsports e. V.” are insured through the sports insurance program of the Landessportbund Hessen. Participating guests are responsible for their own insurance. All participants in university sports are also advised to obtain adequate liability insurance.
