Course Overview


Who are the courses for?
They are for all members of the University of Kassel

  • Students,
  • Exchange Students,
  • PhD Students,
  • Staff,
  • Visiting Scholars,
    And other guests: Any remaining course places can be offered to external applicants. When registering, external applicants are initially given a place on the waiting list. If there are still places available, you will receive an offer for a place at the latest on the Thursday before the start of the course.


    What courses do we offer?

  • Pre-sessional courses
  • German courses levels A1 to C1.
  • "German for your studies after DSH/TestDaF"
  • Specialised communication courses for students of DaF/DaZ, from the Kunsthochschule, of architecture, urban and landscape planning, mechanical engineering, economics
  • and many more
    We are happy to develop and offer further courses at the request of individual departments.


    When and how can I register?
    You can usually register for the PRE-SESSIONAL COURSES 2 months before they begin.
    For the COURSES DURING THE SEMESTER, the course programme is published approximately one calendar month before the start of the semester's lecture period, and course registration is usually possible from the following week. Registration is an online process. At the time mentioned, go to "Learn German BEFORE semester start" or "Learn German DURING the semester".
