That's why we want to make it easier for them to get started with the Welcome Day," explained Dr Manuela Kaiser-Belz from the Strategic Personnel and Organizational Development department, which organized the event.

At the beginning, Chancellor Dr. Oliver Fromm welcomed the new employees. In further presentations, Dr. Manuela Kaiser-Belz explained how the university functions as an organization. Andrea Haferburg and Christine Mandel (Online Editorial Office of the Communications and Marketing Department) gave an overview of how to quickly find information on various topics on the university administration's website. Iris Happel from the Department of Human Resources and Organization provided information on numerous offers that the university provides to its employees.

In between, there was always an opportunity to get to know each other, for example at a get-to-know-you bingo. "I found the exchange with new colleagues from other departments and institutions particularly successful," said Petra Grenzebach-Berg, who has been working in Department 06 Architecture - Urban Planning - Landscape Planning since September 2023, and her colleague Anja Griesel added: "The whole program was very informative and varied."

After the lunch break, experts from finance, HR, construction, ITS, interest groups etc. were available for discussions and questions in a "knowledge exchange". The Welcome Day was rounded off with three guided tours with lots of interesting and interesting information about the university. During the campus tour by Beata Lejman (Department of Construction, Technology, Real Estate), the new employees learned a lot about the history of the university and the development of the Hopla campus. Dirk Schnurr (Department of Construction, Technology, Real Estate) took the participants into the university's basement and explained the technical infrastructure. Dr. Florian Bellin-Harder (Department 06 ASL) took his colleagues on a discovery tour of the flora and fauna on campus.
