Under the basic idea of "together first", the universities in Hesse have joined forces under the "Hessian Digital Pact for Universities" to drive forward the digital transformation at universities. Based on our previous experience, the University of Kassel has taken the lead in the project to introduce digital document-based transaction processing.

One result of the Hessian project was the desire for a joint, centrally operated document management system, which will be operated as the "Hessian University Cloud DMS" by the University of Kassel together with Goethe University Frankfurt (JWGU) and the Hessian University Computing Center (HeHRZ).

To implement the university cloud, it was necessary to invite tenders for a DMS framework agreement for all Hessian universities. In this tendering process, the provider SER came out on top with the Doxis product, which means that the University of Kassel will be gradually switching from the previous d.velop documents system to the new Doxis system.

In order to maintain the previous successes of the digital transformation despite the system change, the processes previously implemented in d.velop documents will be retained for a longer period of time. Training and support will be further expanded for both systems during this time and made available on an equal footing. New sub-projects will begin as soon as the new system is available.

The close cooperation of all Hessian universities in this project offers many synergy effects over and above the resource savings resulting from central operation. The professional exchange at expert level and the sharing of work results between the universities will help all universities to make faster progress in the digital transformation of administrative processes.
