Invitation to workshops "Facilitating discourse in the context of Taking a Seat for Democracy"
Dear supporters of democracy,
We are pleased to invite you to three more workshop dates for training as a discourse facilitator. From October onwards, weekly conversations led by discourse facilitators will take place in public spaces.
In order to realize this major project, we would like to build up a pool of volunteer discourse facilitators. We are offering interested parties the opportunity to train as discourse facilitators.

A democracy in which there is no debate has a problem. The crux of the matter is that a democracy in which there is only and only hostile debate also has a problem. However, between these two poles - the one of the most effective avoidance of controversy and the one of radical belligerence - a space opens up that can be made fruitful for a vibrant and lively democratic culture of debate.
In this workshop, we will take a closer look at this intermediate space. With the help of theoretical foundations and practical test drills, we will develop strategies and ways of acting in order to simplify a confident and confident appearance as a discourse facilitator. Max Barnewitz (er/ihm) is a research assistant at the University of Siegen and works as a freelancer for Netzwerk politische Bildung Bayern. He studied political and social sciences and is primarily concerned with political polarization processes and radical theories of democracy. In his political education work, he focuses primarily on the topic of democracy as a way of life, including in connection with the Israeli-Palestinian educational concept Betzavta (Adam Institute for Democracy and Peace).
