The framework agreement is a central component of our commitment to sustainable event management at the University of Kassel. It was developed in collaboration with the Sustain Group "Sustainable Event Organization" and sets out clear criteria that our framework agreement partners take into account when procuring and preparing food: e.g. the use of seasonal, regional, fair and organic products, the avoidance of disposable packaging and the reduction of food waste.

With this framework agreement, we want to ensure that catering at our events is more environmentally friendly, socially fair and of high quality. It offers a simple and reliable way to order sustainable catering and thus support sustainable event management.

In addition, we provide a checklist "Sustainable Catering - Food & Drink", which contains helpful tips for organizing sustainable events.

The framework agreement is binding for ordering sustainable catering. There is currently no framework agreement for conventional catering. Depending on the order value, it is still necessary to obtain at least three comparative offers. This obligation does not apply if the order value is less than 1,000 euros, as a direct award is possible in this case. More detailed information can be found in the procurement regulations. Please note: Measures that are awarded on the basis of a third-party funded project are sometimes subject to different value limits. The approval notice must be checked accordingly.
