During this time, the aforementioned section of the street will be closed to motor vehicle traffic, and motor vehicles will not be able to pass through. Parking is also prohibited in this area.

Background

The children at the Kleine Strolche daycare center will be given more space to play and run around, and they will learn how public spaces can be used in different ways. Under the motto “Mobility Across Generations,” this section of the street will be transformed into a place for interaction, exchange, and physical activity.

The event takes place as part of European Mobility Week (EMW) from September 16 to 22, a Europe-wide initiative of the European Commission to promote sustainable mobility. The city of Kassel supports initiatives like this to demonstrate that public space can be more than just a traffic area.
