Chancellor's Forum

In this context, Chancellor Dr. Oliver Fromm made it clear that the Hessian Higher Education Pact (HHP) presents challenging financial conditions for the university—but that the HHP’s long duration of six years at least provides planning certainty. Under these circumstances, it is particularly encouraging that Minister of Science Gremmels has pledged start-up funding for the new natural sciences building.

A detailed overview was provided of numerous digitization initiatives aimed at further modernizing the university administration—making the University of Kassel one of the pioneers in this field.

The university’s performance agreement with the State of Hesse was also presented in detail.

In addition, the Chancellor welcomed new colleagues and reported on further projects and innovations from the various Departments, such as the new “Campus Update” newsletter.
