The University of Kassel Welcomes Ten New Trainees

Today, August 3, ten young people began their apprenticeships or degree programs at the University of Kassel’s Praxisverbund. They are spread across a total of seven different apprenticeship trades and fields of study.

To kick things off, the training management team welcomed the new employees. The program included an introduction to the university’s organizational structure, general information on the training process, and practical guidance for day-to-day work.

The range of training programs is diverse: Among the new recruits are three aspiring administrative assistants, two students in the Electrical Engineering practical training program, as well as one farmer, one electronics technician specializing in industrial engineering, an IT specialist for system integration, a horticulturist specializing in ornamental plant cultivation, and a sports and fitness business administrator.

Orientation and Getting to Know Each Other at the University Campus

In addition to covering the organizational basics, the first day focused on getting to know one another. Under bright sunshine, the new hires explored their new work environment during a campus scavenger hunt and a tour of the Holländischer Platz campus. A group breakfast in the pavilion provided an opportunity for initial conversation, before the orientation day concluded in the afternoon with ice cream together with the team from the Human Resources and Organization department.
