Objective

Enabling highly qualified researchers to gain the qualifications required for a position as a university lecturer

Brief Description

The German Research Foundation’s (DFG) Emmy Noether Programme offers exceptionally qualified researchers at an early stage of their careers the opportunity to qualify for a university professorship by independently leading a research group over a period of six years.
Postdoctoral researchers and junior lecturers on fixed-term contracts at an early stage of their academic careers are eligible to apply. Holders of a junior lectureship who have received a positive interim evaluation are no longer part of the programme’s target group and are excluded from applying for and receiving funding.
