In the age of open access, publishing in journals with great impact is not only a question of academic achievement, but sometimes also of financial means. The publication of one's own dissertation or habilitation in a specialised publishing house usually has to be financed independently by the authors. The University of Düsseldorf has therefore set up the Publication Costs Fund for female academics as part of the Women Professors Programme III. It subsidises, among other things
- Publication costs such as publishing fees or editing costs that must be covered independently by the author in the context of publications (e.g. peer-reviewed journal articles, contributions to edited volumes and dissertations/postdoctoral theses)
- Proofreading costs for articles that were not written in the author's first language
- Translations
