Objective

stimulate a critical dialog on the teaching content of the subject of psychology

Brief description

The student-organised event series “(R)Evolutionary Psychology Perspectives on gender, queer and 'race” in psychology' was created to broaden the view of evolutionary processes in psychology teaching. A central idea of this event was to open up perspectives that continue to be neglected in psychology studies. In addition to a critical look at the connections between biology and gender as well as genetics and evolution, the topics of gender, queer and “race” in psychology were also discussed. There was also an in-depth workshop for BIPoC students from all disciplines on power relations and psychotherapy.

The project "Critical perspectives on evolutionary theories" was funded by the University of Kassel's Special Fund for Structural Equal Opportunities.
