Field of application

The CampusCard serves as a multifunctional ID card for students and employees of the University of Kassel. It supports various applications in everyday study and work life, e.g. as a student ID card, library card, means of payment and access card.

Who is it suitable for?

The CampusCard is used by students and staff. All other persons can apply for a library card via the library.

Responsibility

The IT Service Center (ITS) of the University of Kassel is responsible for providing and supporting the CampusCard for students and staff. Non-university members can apply for a library card via the library.

Other offices are responsible for specific functions, e.g. the University Library for library functions or the Studierendenwerk for the payment function (see Support and Contact).

Description

The CampusCard is an electronic ID card that combines various functions: student ID card, library card, electronic wallet, print and copy card, access card and more. It makes everyday university life easier thanks to its central administration and versatile application options.

Alternative solutions exist for certain functions.

  • Payment: Cash or other payment methods in the canteen

  • Library card: Temporary library cards for external users

  • Access: Mechanical keys for certain areas

5. technical requirements

Prerequisites

  • For students: Automatic creation of the CampusCard after enrolment, provided a photo has been uploaded to eCampus, internet connection and current browser required.

  • For employees: Application via https://campuscard.uni-kassel.de, internet connection and current browser required.

  • Activation of the card after receipt via https://campuscard.uni-kassel.de, internet connection and current browser required.

  • Access to the self-service portal: campuscard.uni-kassel.de.

  • Login with UniAccount.

  • Activation, blocking and administration of the CampusCard via the portal.

Data protection and security

The CampusCard stores personal data, which is handled in accordance with the data protection regulations of the University of Kassel. In the event of loss or theft, the card should be blocked immediately to prevent misuse.

Legal notices and license information

The use of the CampusCard is subject to the IT user regulations of the University of Kassel. For certain functions, such as the payment function, additional conditions of the Studierendenwerk apply.
