Introductory events and beginning of the studies

This degree program starts in both the summer and winter semesters.
The dates for the course starting in October 2026 will be published by mid-August 2026 at the latest.
Until then, you can get an impression of the courses offered last year.

The most important dates and offers for the start of your studies

In the winter semester 2026/27 the introductory events for your respective degree program will take place between Monday, 12.10.26 and Wednesday, 14.10.26. Participation in the introductory events is highly recommended. 

The regular courses begin on Thursday, October 15, 2026. The course period ends on February 12, 2027.

Lecture-free period over Christmas and New Year: Saturday 19 December 2026 to Sunday 10 January 2027 inclusive.

On OpenMoodle you can get information about study organization, hints for preparation of your studies, and other topics.

How to register for OpenMoodle

  1. If you are using OpenMoodle for the first time, press the button "Neues Konto anlegen?".
  2. Then you can create an account ("Anmeldename") with password ("Kennwort"). You have to enter you e-mail twice, your first and last name. In the last line you have to agree to the Data privacy rules (English version available accessible via link).
  3. Your entry point is the OpenMoodle course for new Master students in the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. A link will forward you from there to the specific course for MSc Nanoscience students (also directly accessible via https://openmoodle.uni-kassel.de/course/view.php?id=153).
